What is Mesothelioma Cancer | How to Cure Mesothelioma

what is mesothelioma cancer|how to cure mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that appears in the innermost layers of the organ. Mesothelioma most apparently occurs in the lungs, chest wall, and abdomen. Moreover, mesothelioma cancer rarely appears in the inner lining of heart tissues. Up to 80 percent of Mesothelioma cancer is because of the exposure to asbestos. Asbestos is a compound of 6 silica minerals. The more an individual contacts with asbestosis, the higher the risk of mesothelioma cancers will be.
The interaction with asbestos can be due to multiple reasons including asbestosis mining, or while working with asbestos or working in a building comprises of asbestos. It does not merely mean that people at home are completely safe. Women at home or anyone who washes the clothes of the person who interacted with asbestos can cause the risk factor of Mesothelioma cancer disease in them.
On the basis of a global survey, it has been observed that the United Kingdom and Australia are countries with a major threat of Mesothelioma cancer whereas, the countries with least threat of Mesothelioma cancer includes Japan. In accordance with estimation in 2015, 60800 have been diagnosed with the Mesothelioma cancer in their inner lining of lungs and more than 32,000 deceased due to this disease.

The reason behind such massive human deaths is that people discovered their disease of Mesothelioma cancer at late stages. Another reason for this death rate is that no cure has been found till now for this life taking ailment that is why the survival rate is less.

In the year 2017, disease control centers have diagnosed 2800 patients suffering from Mesothelioma cancer, a cervical fluid in the inner lining of their lings, in the United States of America. And the people in the United States of America who diagnosed with Mesothelioma carcinoma have the least survival rate as in the last five years they have only 8% chances of their survival after their diagnosis.
There are several factors that cause the symptoms of Mesothelioma to appear sooner or later such as health, physical activity, working conditions and other characteristics.  Mesothelioma cancer is a disease which takes about 20-50 years to come up with its all the signs to finally find out this carcinoma.

    Symptom/Signs of Mesothelioma Cervix

Symptoms of Mesothelioma often get muddy with the symptoms of other diseases. Moreover, the signs of Mesothelioma appear as per its stage and type. Mesothelioma carcinoma is of 3 types whereas, it holds around four stages.

    Pleural Mesothelioma

This type of mesothelioma relates to lungs and most common type of Mesothelioma cervix. Symptoms of Pleural Mesothelioma cancer may take 20 to 50 years to appear to its full extent as you continue exposure to asbestos. Shorten of breathing, fluid in the lungs, muscle stiffness, fatigue, anemia, chest pain, cough and sometimes bleeding while coughing is the most common signs of Pleural Mesothelioma.
    Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Peritoneal Mesothelioma cancer is cancer that affects the abdomen. The most common symptoms of Mesothelioma are stomach pain, swelling, and vomiting. Moreover, other signs of Peritoneal Mesothelioma cancer constipation, sweetening, weight loss, fever and most rarely sort of mass in the abdominal area.
    Pericardial Mesothelioma

Pericardial Mesothelioma belongs to the carcinoma in the heart. People often get confused with the signs of Mesothelioma as the signs of Pericardial Mesothelioma are not well defined and it is a bit similar to the Pleural Mesothelioma. Symptoms of Pericardial Mesothelioma include pain to the chest wall, coughing, and respiratory system disorders.

Among all these three types of Mesothelioma cardiac Mesothelioma cancer is most dangerous one because it harms both the lungs and heart at the same time. In very severe cases signs of Mesothelioma appear with intensity such as clotting of blood in vessels, lower level of blood sugar, yellowish eyes and skin color. Additionally, it can effect on kidneys, liver and adrenal glands.

    Causes of Mesothelioma Cancer

Causes of Mesothelioma cancer a few in numbers a major one among them is exposure to asbestos, working in a building comprises of asbestos, contact with radiations, consumption of alcohol, smoking, mining of Erionite and genetics as well.

    Exposure to Asbestos

Asbestos is a compound of six silica minerals that directly effect on lungs as it is harmful to human DNA. When individual contact with asbestos whether it is done for mining, or staying with a person who is directly associated with asbestos can create higher risk factor and causes Pleural Mesothelioma cancer.

    Smoking

People who are used to smoke frequent times a day can be on the risk to develop Mesothelioma cancer type one which is directly associated with lungs. Moreover, these people are also threatening to a healthy person because when they exhale the smoke, it also impacts on the lungs of a healthy person and can be a cause of Mesothelioma cancer.

    Alcohol Consumption

Excessive consumption of alcohol is another cause of Pleural Mesothelioma as it puts adverse effects on lungs and disturbs their functioning.

    Radiation Exposure

People who work in an environment where they build direct contact with radiations such as X-rays and radioactive waves can be a victim of Mesothelioma cancer. Radiations are associated with the growth of cervical cells. Hence, it has not been proved until now that radiation exposure directly causes of Mesothelioma cancer.

    Genetics

It has been observed in 2012 that few races contain a mutation in genes which can be a cause of Mesothelioma cancer. White American race is included in such races which hold the threat of this cervical disease.

    Erionite

Erionite is a mineral akin to asbestos; it is generally used in the construction of roads and building. People who contact with erionite at their workplaces or hold this as their profession are more likely to develop Mesothelioma in the inner lining of their organs more probably in their lungs.

    Stages of Mesothelioma Cancer

There are around 4 stages in number which are categorized on the generalized basis. Almost all the types of Mesothelioma comprise of these four stages but their intensity may be varying from type to type of mesothelioma carcinogen.
Stage 1: This one is the primary stage of Mesothelioma. At stage 1 the cancer is not invaded to other organs of lymph nodes. The symptoms of the Mesothelioma are not prominent at first stage. In Pleural Mesothelioma, the most common type of Mesothelioma cancer, patients suffer from some common diseases such as fever, a lighter discomfort in chest and feeling of pain in the body. There are very rare chances to find out the Mesothelioma at its first stage but if people discover signs of Mesothelioma in them then their chances of recovery from the cervix are prominent.

Stage2: At this stage, the tumor is a little bit bigger than the stage one and the tumor spread out to the nearby organ of its location. At this stage, if the carcinogen is in lungs it might spread to the other lung. Additionally, it can be attached to the inner lining of the heart and may be touch to lymph nodes as well. Earlier cancers are diagnosed at this stage. But there are only 15 percent cases are discovered at this stage of Mesothelioma.

Stage 3: Stage 3 Mesothelioma is the stage that has more chances to diagnose the disease as compared to previous both stages of Mesothelioma cancer though it is not the most advanced stage. At this stage, the tumor is not limited to that one organ but also affect the nearby nodes. At this stage, Mesothelioma spreads to lymph nodes and on the side where its origin is.
Moreover, at this stage, the weight of the patient starts getting lose rapidly. Fatigue and fever are also common signs of stage 3 Mesothelioma cancer.

Stage 4: Stage 4 is the last and the deadliest stage of Mesothelioma cancer. At this stage, cancer invaded to different organs including, heart, vessels, and stomach too. This is the advanced stage where the patient of Mesothelioma cancer feels shortens of breathing, continues pain in chest walls, difficult to swallow any stuff. Life expectancy at this late stage of Mesothelioma is less than a year.

    Diagnosis of Mesothelioma Cancer

As the Mesothelioma does not have any definite symptom, most of the times the Mesothelioma get jumbled with the signs of another common disease. For this reason diagnosis of Mesothelioma cancer is not an easy task to perform. This is the reason for the high rate of deaths that its diagnosis is quite tough and symptoms of Mesothelioma takes time to appear. Another reason behind this is Mesothelioma is not much common and doctors are not much aware of it so, often times the Mesothelioma gets a misconception. That is why its diagnosis can only be done by the clinical screening to make sure that the fighter is actually suffering from this deadliest cervix or not.

    Image Screening

Image screening is the most advanced solution to discover and detect if any tumor persists in human organs internally. The foremost one is X-ray, is the oldest and clinically proven to detect many of disease growing inside of the body. X-ray can detect the fluid in lungs that is the solid sign of Pleural

    Mesothelioma

CT- Scan, CT- Scan is another technique that is used to diagnose many of disease inside the lining of organs. CT- Scan forms 3D images to provide the clear picture to get the evidence of Mesothelioma cancer.

    MRI:

Magnetic Resonance Imaging provides much more clear results that are only suggested at the time when the tumor is fully grown in its place. This is much more helpful in the diagnosis of metastasized Mesothelioma.

    Blood Test

A blood test is the most effective solution that identifies the diseases. It may not detect the mesothelioma cells but it can give informative points to deal with this cervix. Under this test, a prick of blood or probably a syringe of blood can be taken from the body to operate multiple actins on it, in order to diagnose any abnormalities in the functioning.

    Biopsy

The other one is the biopsy. A biopsy is performed in different methods as per the need. If the tumor is in the abdomen the doctor might suggest laparoscopy or the other way if one found any abnormality in the chest, the individual must be suggested to take thoracoscopy.

These are the most common and widely used techniques that are supposed to given the clinically proven results.

    Treatment of Mesothelioma Cancer

Mostly it takes a span of time from the contact to the asbestos and gradual growth of Mesothelioma. Treatment for Mesothelioma comprises a combination of surgeries and tests. These combinations are applied to cure the carcinogen and to prevent its recurrence because sometimes only one method is not sufficient to cure the entire tumor.

    Surgery

If the cancer cells are found at stage one, then surgery is the best possible solution that can be operated at that point. When the surgery is undertaken, the cancerous cells or the area where the tumor is located is removed.

    Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is always applied in combination with drugs or surgery. Chemotherapy is used to control or limit the growth of cancer cells in the body.  The other counterparts of the tumor are operated with the help of surgery. This way of treating the Mesothelioma is used to take control over the disease but this also puts some of the side effects including, hair loss, and damage to internal organs such as kidneys, vomiting, and nausea also.
    Radiation Therapy

Under the radiation therapy, high radiation waves are used to treat the Mesothelioma cancer. Radiation therapy is used to shrink the cancer cells when physicians are unable to cure the tumor as a whole. For this reason, radiations are passed through the area where Mesothelioma appeared in the body. Later on, a combination of surgery is also used to treat the Mesothelioma cancer cells completely.
This type of treatments is suggested when the cancer cells have grown to its full extent.
Moreover, this treatment also put some side effects such as tiredness, skin itching, redness, the effect on heart and lungs also.
